Germany is welcoming highly skilled employees with a handsome salary package thus encouraging youngsters and skilled persons. So if you have decided that you would like to work there, the first thing you need to do is get a German job seeker visa.


There are several criteria that you need to fulfil to be eligible to apply for the Germany job seeker visa:

  1. Hold a Bachelor/Master’s Degree from a German university or an equivalent foreign degree
  2. Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in your related field of study
  3. Show proof that you have sufficient funds to cover your stay during the time you are in Germany
  4. Have travel or medical insurance for your entire stay in Germany or until you get your Work Permit.

- Not stapled
Please provide two sets of A4 size photocopies.

You have to arrange each set of documents according to
the order in which they are mentioned below.

1. Application form
- signed by the applicant
- completely filled out by typewriter/computer
2. Biometric picture
- not older than three months and white background
- no computer print-outs accepted
- stapled to the application form at the intended spot
3. Proof of stay in Germany (e.g. hotel reservation)
4. Your curriculum vitae
5. Documentation of your school, college and academic
degree or vocational training qualification and
employment history - if any
- B.A., BSC, B.COM, BBA, BCS, M.A., MSc. etc.
- Starting with your highest academic degree going back to your school degrees
- The academic degrees and transcripts need to be attested by HEC (Higher Education Commission) if done in Pakistan
- You have to prove the equivalence of your foreign university degree to a German university degree. For this you have to submit a statement of comparability 
If you hold a vocational training qualification, you are required to have your foreign qualification officially recognized by the relevant authority in Germany before you file your visa application.
If you hold a vocational training qualification, you also have to submit a B1 German language certificate from the Goethe Institute.

- If you are looking for a vocational training place in Germany, you also have to submit a B2 German language certificate from the Goethe Institute and you cannot be older than 25 years.
6. Proof of sufficient financial means for your stay in Germany by one of the options
a)  Proof of blocked account (Sperrkonto) in the name of the applicant showing a minimum balance of 5682 Euro (Euro 947 per month of stay in Germany, i.e. 6 x Euro 947, and the remark that the account holder can dispose of a monthly amount of Euro 947 only).
7. Proof of sufficient financial means for your possible return to your home country after an unsuccessful job hunt by one of the Options

a)Your personal bank statements of the last 6 months with enough funds to buy a ticket for a return flight
b)A confirmed and paid return flight ticket
8. Passport copies page 1 and 2
Of all your passports starting with the most recent one you want to travel on. If you lost a passport, please provide police certificate regarding the loss instead
9. Valid health insurance
Health insurance in line with EU standards (covering the entire Schengen area, minimum coverage of 30,000 €, valid from the day of entry for the entire stay)
Needs to be signed
Please note that Category “D” national visas for job seekers are normally issued with a validity of 6 months from the date of travel onwards to enable the passport holder to enter Germany and to avoid the necessity for the passport holder to register with the competent alien’s authority (as the complete stay in Germany is covered by the visa). Please provide the Visa Section with a travel health insurance valid for at least 6 months from your intended date of travel onwards so that a visa with a validity of 6 months may be issued.
10. Information about any previous visa refusals
If you have been refused a visa by an Embassy or High Commission, written explanation about reason for application and refusal letter are required.
